For the scientific outlook on egg-cooking, see the equation written by CDH Williams online.
1. Start with a room temperature egg (the shell is less likely to crack)
2. Put in pot and cover with water to an inch above the eggs. (If you put too much water, it will take too long to bring to the boil and they are too long)
3. Bring to a boil on full heat (so it's easy)
4. Let boil 30 seconds, then cover pan and turn off heat. Need escapes nice seal so no steam.
5. Leave it on the stove for 15 minutes.
6. Put cool under running cold water (without dumping out of the water) for 5 minutes.
