Teofilo Stevenson | Cuban boxing legend, Teofilo Stevenson, who is considered as the best boxer in his time despite never switch to professional boxing, died at the age of 60 years because of a heart attack.

Teofilo Stevenson dominated the contest of amateur boxing for 14 years and became the first boxer to win an Olympic gold medal in the same class three times, according to AFP on Wednesday.

Compete in the category now known as a super heavyweight, Teofilo Stevenson won the first gold medal at the Olympics Muncih in 1972, then two others in Montreal 1976 and Moscow 1980.

But, he is not willing to take advantage of the opportunities his fourth medal for Cuba to join the Soviets boycotted the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.

Teofilo Stevenson ended his career in 1986 with a record of 302 wins, then joined the Cuban Boxing Federation as coaches and officials, the main train Felix Savon, who eventually imitate it by winning three Olympic gold medals in 1992, 1996, 2000.

He was not willing to remove the amateur status in the 1970s, when world boxing bodies are found with very targeted him for heavyweight boxer who became world champion, Muhammad Ali, once after the 1976 Montreal Olympics.
