Chronology of Julian Assange Detention in London

Founder whistleblower site WikiLeaks Julian Assange now huddled in custody. He is awaiting extradition proceedings at the request of the Swedish government in the case of alleged rape of two women. The following chronology of his detention.


At 9:20 am Tuesday (07/12/2010) London time, Assange was already planning to meet with British police. The meeting was held at the police station after the Assange know there is an extradition warrant from Sweden.

Men from Australia that do not stay long at the police station. He was immediately escorted to the arena of extradition hearings, chaired by a judge at City of Westminster Magistrates Court, London, Howard Riddle.

Before appearing in court, Assange looked calm and confident wearing a dark blue suit and white-necked shirt. He did not hesitate a faint smile and waved at journalists.

The trial court at the start. The first question asked the judge is the day of his birth. He replied firmly, "On July 3, 1971".

When the judge moves on to address the question, Assange begin critical.

"(Address) for correspondence or any other reason?" asked 39-year-old man as reported by The Guardian

After the 'suppressed' judge, Assange also gave an address in Australia. With the judge also read out loud re Assange address.

"177 Grantham Street, Parkville, Victoria, Australia," said the judge.

In the meeting, also approved granting Assange address during his stay in England. However, for safety reasons, the address will not be submitted before the court.

Assange had mentioned the assassination attempt against him related to the leak of information from WikiLeaks. But the judge ignored by asserting, the case at hand Assange WikiLeaks is not a problem, but rape.

The plan, Assange be detained until 14 December. Extradition hearing will be resumed next week.
