About TMP Kalibata
In 1953, President Sukarno ordered the removal of the garden tomb of heroes. Park hero's tomb which was originally located in Ancol moved to new areas, Kalibata, South Jakarta. A year later, to coincide with Heroes Day 10 November 1954, President Soekarno inaugurated the use of TMP Kalibata. At that time, the garden tomb of this new hero has been "occupied" 121 heroes who moved from TMP Ancol.

In 1973, President Suharto agreed to plans to expand to 25 hectares Kalibata TMP.
