Maya Moore - Connecticut Huskies guard Maya Moore turned in one of the biggest games of her career in one of the biggest games in women’s basketball history. After the game, UConn players received shirts bearing “89 and Counting.”

The UCONN Huskie women wallop the Seminoles of Florida State 93-62 for their 89 straight win.
I ranked Huskies women's basketball team topped the 88-game winning streak set by the legendary great John Wooden's UCLA men's team from 1971-74. Mr. Wooden's UCLA team's 88 straight games will stand by itself and the Lady Huskies 89 straight games is also an exceptional extraordinary accomplishment, which is in the same category of the UCLA's 88 straight game streak.

Maya and her teammates were so well prepared to play the game against the upstart Lady Seminoles.

Geno Auriemma:
"I'm a little torn," he said. "Someone just asked me, 'Hey, do you want to do this big thing' if we passed 88. I was like, why? We broke the record when we passed 70. UConn women has won the most games in the history of women's basketball in a row. Shouldn't that be the way it works?"

Maya Moore:
"I like to appreciate what they did for what they did and what we're doing in our special way," Moore said. "I don't think you have to say one's better than the other. I think we're a society that likes to always compete and have to say somebody's a winner and a loser."
