Teresa scanlan miss nebraska - Mrs. Scanlan, a recent high school graduate, won a $50,000 scholarship at the competition at the Planet Hollywood casino-resort Las Vegas.

Mrs. Scanlan plans to study American politics at Patrick Henry College in Virginia and attend law school after her reign as Miss America, according to her pageant biography.

Teresa Scanlan is a youngest Miss America till the pageant was started since 1921.

Pageant officials said, “She was the youngest Miss America since the pageant's first competition in 1921, when Margaret Gorman of the District of Columbia won at age 15. Alyse Eady covers the position as the second runner-up and won $25,000 whereas Jalee Fuselier from Hawaii won $20,000 for third place.

  2. She deserves it. All of the competitors did. Miss Nebraska just came out on top so congratulations to her. She will be a great Miss America. As for some of these crazy racist comments they are out of place here. After many years this pageant is doing a great job with representation from all ethnicity's.
