Verizon announcement - Verizon Announcement, (AP) – Verizon Wireless has been the long-awaited announcement Tuesday that it will begin selling a version of the iPhone 4 on Feb. 10, offering buyers of U.S. iPhone a range of media for the first time.

Verizon Communications Inc. Chief Operating Officer Lowell McAdam, made the announcement in New York, joined by Apple COO Tim Cook, who called it “the beginning of a beautiful relationship between Verizon and Apple.”
It will be sold by Verizon, Apple and other stores nationwide and on the Internet.
Verizon has not disclosed its fares service plan Tuesday.
Verizon’s iPhone version works only on the carrier during the “3G” network even if the carrier has pulled a fast “4G” network in many cities. “Secondly and most importantly, Verizon customers have told us they want the iPhone now,” Cook said. When will the iPhone work on Verizon’s network?”

In recent years, Verizon has encouraged phones with Google Inc. Android operating system as an alternative to the iPhone.
Apple’s share lost 14 cents to $ 342.32.
