Lorenzo Fastest in Qualifying Laguna Seca

California - Despite falling in the final practice session, Jorge Lorenzo is able to record the fastest time in qualifying that kept him occupied pole position in the race this Sunday.

Lorenzo suffered a severe fall at the end of a three-day training session on Saturday morning (07/20/2011) local time, but the incident did not make him lose speed in qualifying.

Yamaha rider spurred his bike around the Laguna Seca circuit as fast as one minute 21,202 seconds, 0072 seconds faster than second-ranked Casey Stoner.

Dani Pedrosa followed in the ranking of three to complete the front row, followed by Ben Spies, Marco Simoncelli and Andrea Dovizioso on the next row.

Valentino Rossi showed decent results after assuming the starting seven with Ducati. Then Hector Barbera, Nicky Hayden and Carl Crutchlow complete the top 10.

In this qualifying session, co-Lorenzo at Yamaha, Ben Spies had fallen but it seems not seriously injured.
