Passport Replaced With iPad | A Canadian man who forgot to bring my passport said he had crossed the border into the United States using a copy of the travel documents were in his iPad.

Martin Reisch, of Montreal, showed that digital tools to the American border officials after realizing that he was not carrying a passport.

He told officers he was headed for Vermont to deliver Christmas gifts. Reisch said he knew that the immigration officer gave him an exception. "I thought I would try it," said Reisch told the Associated Press.

"The officer took the iPad into a small office at the border. He was there about three to six minutes. It was long time then. When he returned, he could not say anything before giving a Merry Christmas. "

33-year-old man said, officers believe it, because he is a driver's license.

Reisch, who managed to re-enter Canada on the same day, said he will not forget your passport again at a later date.

But he hopes the identification by digital tools will be done sometime in the future. "I hope in future we can cross borders with a digital identity," he said.

Since 2009, Canadians can no longer just bring a driver's license as a form of identification to cross the border by land.

Canadians can only enter the United States using a passport and a special driver's license, according to Canadian immigration.

Related to this case, there has been no official comment from the immigration authorities of both countries.
